July 3, 2020
Dear Valued YMCA Member,
The wait is almost over! On July 2, Governor Baker communicated that Phase 3 can begin next week. After reviewing the extensive MA Safety Standards for Fitness Centers and Health Clubs from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Hampshire Regional YMCA, in unison with our neighboring Y’s (Springfield, Holyoke and Westfield) will reopen our doors on Monday, July 13.
The safety of our members, staff and community is our number one priority. We are working with our State Alliance of YMCA’s to further clarify these guidelines and will need additional time to ensure compliance with the state mandated requirements that were just received.
Throughout the next week, we will share our final facility COVID-19 reopening plans and protocols. The protocols include increased sanitizing and cleaning, increased staffing to assist with cleaning, a reservation system for entry, HVAC system updates, a COVID-19 health questionnaire upon entry, limiting capacity in the YMCA to reinforce social distancing, physically distanced equipment, removal of seating in gathering areas, and scheduling to assist with spacing. The member related protocols will be posted on our website and social media pages no later than Tuesday. Please review these carefully prior to your first visit, they will also be updated as changes occur with the COVID-19 requirements.
In addition, we will post links, tutorials and directions for our reservation system, called Motionvibe, by next Tuesday. You will need your member ID number and email to create your profile on a smart phone, tablet or computer. Members may also call the YMCA to reserve their space if needed.
Our outdoor exercise classes and virtual exercise and youth programming will continue next week and beyond. If you need help accessing these options, please contact Jennifer Allen or Lynne Zusi at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your membership has been on hold, and you wish to reactivate for July 13 or if you have any other membership questions, please contact Nicole.email@example.com.
Camp Prospect and Camp Koala start Monday, July 6 – our staff is ready to make this summer great for our youth! The Northampton Health Department and NAP have both been wonderful to work with throughout this crisis – we are very thankful for their support.
Our staff will be in the building July 6 – July 10 answering phones between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm. Please call or email next week if you have any questions.
Thank you again for your patience during this unprecedented time. Our future is full of possibilities; together, we can strengthen the health of our community. We cannot wait to see you at the Hampshire Regional YMCA!
With appreciation and excitement,
Julie and All of Our Awesome YMCA Staff Team!
