Policies & Procedures
A unique offering at no charge to our Household Members, our Child Watch Wing includes 4 age appropriate rooms supervised by caring and mature professionals. Our programs provide hands-on activities in a nurturing and safe environment.
For the safety and wellbeing of your child/children, please respect our Child Watch Policies and Procedures.
Time blocks Each parent on a Household membership may bring his/her child/children to Child Watch for up to 5 visits per week at 1½ hours per visit. Parents may not use 1½ hour blocks consecutively, and are limited to 2 time blocks per child/per day. Parent/guardians must stay in the YMCA building while their children are in Child Watch.
Sign-in/out Please be sure to sign your child in each time you use our program. State where you are in the building so we may reach you. You will be issued a bracelet with numbers for identification. On signing out, the number will be checked for identification.
Emergency We will at times practice and speak of evacuation procedures with the children. This is done so that if there ever is a time of emergency, children will not be alarmed. If you come to pick up at this time, please be patient and wait for all children to be accounted for before trying to take your child.
Snacks Snacks are suggested but please label. This is done for the safety of all. Those with allergies must be protected and nutritional concerns respected.
Diaper changing It is important to note that we are not allowed to change diapers, so please have your children freshly diapered. If there is a need, we will come to get you. Both rooms have bathroom facilities with a changing table in the younger room.
Illness For the well being of all the children and staff, we ask that you not bring a child to Child Watch for at least 24 hours after symptoms of any illness have disappeared.
