Ways to Give

The Hampshire Regional YMCA  is a nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

By Mail

To donate by mail:

Hampshire Regional YMCA

Donations of Stock

You or your company can donate stock, stock options and other investments to the Hampshire Regional YMCA in one simple transaction.

A gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. You benefit by avoiding capital gains taxes and reducing income taxes. The YMCA benefits by receiving property that is easy to sell and will generate funds to support YMCA programs

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer a matching gift program, which can double or even triple your gift. These programs not only match gifts given by employees, but also may match gifts given by company directors, employee spouses and retired employees.

To participate in your company’s matching gift program, visit the human resources office to obtain a matching gift form. Complete it and send it along with your gift to the Hampshire Regional YMCA. We will notify your company of your contribution, and you can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you’ve doubled your giving power without breaking a sweat!

Gift in Honor or in Memory of a Friend or Loved One

Make a gift in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one by using your choice of contribution type, and we’ll send a lovely card announcing your gift. Just let us know on whose behalf the donation is made, and to whom the card should be sent.

Bequest

A bequest is simple and convenient. You can make a bequest for a specific dollar amount or for a percentage of your estate. You can designate your bequest for general use or you can restrict its use to a camp or program area. Many individuals establish endowments that honor the memory of a family member or another loved one.

These endowments live forever since only the earnings distribution is used annually. Since a will is an important legal document, you should seek an attorney’s help.

Following are some examples of various types of bequests:

  • Specific bequests are used to make a gift of a specific dollar amount or specific assets, such as securities, real estate or personal property.
  • Residuary bequests are used to give all or a portion of the rest, residue and remainder of your estate after payment of expenses and any specific amounts designated to other beneficiaries.
