Marion Jordan — Gymnastics Director

Marion Jordan I was born in Northampton and have lived in the Valley my whole life. I graduated from Westfield State College in 2004 and now live in Belchertown with my husband and daughter. I started coaching gymnastics at the age of 17 at a dance studio in South Hadley. I then started coaching at the YMCA part time in 1999 when it was just a couple classes per week. I picked up other coaching jobs at area clubs and camps because I was working to pay for my schooling. I was the assistant gymnastics coach at the Hampshire Regional High School for 2 years, and then held the Head Coach position for 2 more years. Since 1999 I have grown our gymnastics team from a mere 12 gymnasts to about 35 competitive gymnasts, and classes and camp have more than 200 gymnasts yearly.

I am first aid and CPR certified and I hold a USA Gymnastics Safety certification and have a professional membership. I attend several clinics and coaches meetings per year to further my knowledge in the sport. I have trained Nationally ranked YMCA gymnasts all the way down to our tiniest new 2-year-old gymnasts!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my beautiful daughter and husband, shopping with my sisters, and making people laugh. My short-term goal is for our gymnastics team to rank in the top 10 teams in the region. My long-term goal is to have a Gymnastics Center here at our Y!
