  1. Meet your class instructor in the upper parking lot off Woodlawn Ave.  Some classes will remain there, others will use space on the grass.
  2. Only active Y members may register for our outdoor classes.
  3. No classes will run if the temperature is 90 degrees or above; classes will be canceled if it’s raining.
  4. Members participating need to have an account on our online reservation system.
  5. Sign up 48 hours ahead.
  6. Bring your own mat/towel and water bottle.
  7. Each participant must sign up separately (i.e. one person cannot bring a family member under one reservation).

Lap Swimming

  1. Lap Swimming Lane use (swimming/aqua jogging and other lane activities): Due to our current lap swim limitations the HRYMCA will be adding large and small pool lane sharing, with a maximum of two swimmers per lane.  We will still maintain a maximum of 4 large pool reservations per week, per member.  We will continue to evaluate the reservation system as this change is implemented.
  2. Our team is reviewing the weekly registrations and will cancel any slots over the maximum of four reservations per week, and will notify the member through the Motionvibe app and via email.
  3. All reservation blocks are 45 minutes in length.  Swimmers are expected to observe reservation start and end times and exit promptly at reservation end times.
  4. One swimmer will enter at the deep end of the pool, the other at the shallow end of the pool. Each swimmer will enter the right side of the lane. Swimmers are expected to stay on their side of the lane throughout the reservation. If a member needs to use the chair lift for getting in or out of the pool(s) they will be the first person to get into the pool. When they are ready the lifeguard will lower them into the water and then return the lift to the proper position.
  5. There will be no use of YMCA aquatics equipment at this time.  A member may bring in their own equipment to use for their workout.

Family Swim Time

  1. The small pool will be split into quarters and each family cannot exceed 5 family members from their same membership unit in their designate section.
  2. Each Household family is allowed to reserved a maximum of 4 family swim blocks per week. (This is an overall family benefit.) We will continue to assess availability.
  3. All family swim participants will need to stop at the Welcome Center for a bracelet prior to entering the pool area.
  4. Reservation blocks will be described by shallow or deep end. Please remember the deep end of the pool is 4 feet.
  5. For supervision reasons all family members must be in the pool.
  6. The YMCA will not provide any flotation devices, noodles, etc. Members are welcome to bring their own flotation device as long as it is Coast Guard approved.
  7. Any swimmer that requires a flotation device needs to be within arm’s length of their parent/guardian.
  8. Showering before entering the pool areas will be mandatory.
  9. If a member needs to use the chair lift for getting in or out of the pool(s) they will be the first person to get into the pool. When they are ready the lifeguard will lower them into the water and then return the lift to the proper position.
  10. There will be no use of YMCA equipment at this time.  A member may bring in their own equipment to use for their workout.

Water Aerobics – Small and Large Pool:

  • Deep-water classes in our large pool are capped at 18 participants.  Shallow water class capacity in the small pool is currently 12 participants.

Small Pool Reservations:

Small Pool reservations are currently designated for water jogging and lap swimming. One member reservation does not represent multiple members in the lane. These slots cannot be used for family swim time.

Locker Room Use

  • Maintaining social distance is encouraged.  Members should clean their lockers before and after use with the disinfectant wipes.
  • Saunas and Steam Rooms remained closed at this time.

Other Information:

  • Please do not ask the lifeguards if you may enter the water before your time slots begins or stay after your swim has ended.  We understand you may want to swim longer than 45 minutes, but this shift will allow us to accommodate as many members as possible in our pools.
  • Please note after 3:00p M-F and Sat. morning 9:00a-12p the pool may be shared with swim lessons or swim team.  During these times only the upstairs locker rooms are available for lap swimmers.
  • Household members (adult couples, senior couples, one adult households, and 2 adult households) may share a lane together, but both members must register for their time slot. Max two people per lane regardless of household.  We cannot guarantee that a lane will be available to share with your household member.
