UPDATE: We’re almost there – We need to raise just $4,975 more to reach our goal of $40,000! The Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund will match that dollar for dollar to fund further upgrades to our pool area. We need all donations and pledges in by December 14!
We are pleased to announce The Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund has awarded the Hampshire Regional YMCA a $40,000 challenge grant to help fund our Restore and Renew project in the pool area. This means that any donations made to this project by December 15, 2018 will be matched, up to $40,000. We are very honored to be given this opportunity and we hope the Y community can help us maximize the grant!
Our pools are a vital resource for our community and we are working hard to maintain them. This year alone, we have spent over $300,000 to replace the air handling unit and roof in our pools. We now need to replace an aging filtration system. The Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund’s $40,000 grant includes a generous match challenge that will greatly help with this upgrade. Every donation made to our pool’s Restore and Renew project by December 15 will be matched by the Fund, up to $40,000! These funds can be donated now, or in the form of a pledge to be fulfilled in 2019.
Both the large and small pools are such an integral part of our Y. Whether you’re a lap swimmer, a parent watching their child learn to swim, or a regular in one of our water classes, you know how important it is for our members and the community at large to have regular access to our pools. In order to keep our pool area functioning at an optimal level for years to come, it is imperative that we complete the Restore and Renew project. With your help, we can achieve this goal!
Contributions in any amount will make a big difference, especially when the match is applied! If you can help, please download and complete the pledge form and submit to the Y via mail or email by December 14, 2018. Questions? Contact Julie Bianco at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for helping us open the to door to a stronger and healthier community!
