While our building is closed and the halls are empty, the echoes of your laughter and memories of your smiles fuel our desire to serve. During this time, we do know the level of uncertainty that exists, yet we promise to remain committed to doing what is right for our members and our community. Our YMCA is a non-profit organization and our work will continue during this unprecedented time.
We’re Here For Good
During this time, we are still actively working to provide resources for our members to ensure that you can exercise, reduce stress and entertain your children through our virtual sites. Members can join these groups through our Facebook pages and Zoom. Our staff are preparing to reopen safely with programming, facility projects and more. We have communicated our willingness to help to with our local leaders; offering space for additional testing sites, assistance for emergency health care workers and volunteers for social services.
There are still many unknowns, but please trust we are working diligently with our board, staff, community leaders and YMCA’s across the country to determine the next steps to safely serve you and your families.
Now More Than Ever, Your Membership Means So Much to So Many…….
As a local non-profit, the Hampshire Regional YMCA has been serving our community for 140 years. By continuing as a member, you will allow us to maintain the financial resources needed to sustain our YMCA in order to help our community, now and in the future. Our YMCA does not receive state or federal funding, (other than a small state grant to support financial assistance). We solely depend on our membership and program fees, as well as the generosity of our donors, to remain open. We are self-insured for unemployment and employ close to 200 staff. Our staff are the foundation of all we do, therefore, with your support, we are currently paying our staff during this closure.
If you continue with your membership, your support will enable us to be here for our community. For the length of time we are closed, we will issue a donation letter for tax purposes to reflect your membership fees during the closure.

In addition, to thank all of the members who continue to support our Y and staff during this COVID-19 closure AND to support our community, we will purchase gift certificates to local businesses to raffle off to our members. Thank you to the anonymous donor who made this possible! We will announce the winners and the local business each week.
