Reservation System Update

As of May 2 we are making changes to our reservation system, MotionVibe.

Dear Valued Y Member,

 

Thank you to all of our members for your continued patience as our team has navigated the challenges of operating during a pandemic. As you know, we put a reservation system in place when we reopened our doors to help maintain local guidance and capacity standards. This software gives us the ability to let our patrons know when the pool is available, and to notify patrons if swim slots need to be cancelled due to staffing.

 

As of May 2,our Y will no longer require reservations for lap swimming or open swim in either pool. Also as of May 2, we will no longer require reservations for group exercise classes except for cycle and aqua class registrations.

 

The Aquatics department will still continue to utilize MotionVibe to display available time blocks in both pools. If you would like us to be notified of any schedule changes electronically, you can reserve a time block for notification purposes.

 

Please note that there are times when the pools are not available for lap swim or open swim due to aqua classes, swim lessons and swim team practices taking place. Please be sure to check the schedule for the large pool and the small pool on our website, on MotionVibe or at the Y Welcome Center for the most updated information.
To help clarify what this means for our members:

 

Pool Usage:
  • This means that members are now expected to lane share if needed. If more than two swimmers are in a lane, then members will need to circle swim (maximum 4 swimmers per lane).
  • If you need to share a lane, make sure you talk to the other swimmer sharing the same lane so they know you are there. If you are asked to share a lane, please be courteous, agreeable and responsive.
  • There is no longer a time restriction for any swim slot. Members can also swim as many days of the week as they like.
  • Please enter the large pool at the shallow end.
  • If there are schedule changes to the pool, the best place to see these changes will still be through the MotionVibe system.
  • There may be instances when the pool will need to be closed due to lifeguard shortages, weather or other unforeseen events on short notice.

Group Exercise:

  • If there are group exercise class cancellations, these can also be communicated via email through the MotionVibe system if members are registered for the class.

Please remember our board of health requires that all swimmers, swim lesson and aqua class participants of all ages must shower prior to entering the pool. Also, our thunderstorm policy states that in the event of a storm we are required to close the pool for 30 minutes from the last thunder or lightning in our area.

 

Please be patient and understand all areas of our YMCA are understaffed and we’re wearing many hats. We are doing our best to serve you.
