Hiring: Norwich Senior Program Director

The Hampshire Regional YMCA’s Camp Norwich location sits on a beautiful campus with 175 acres, walking trails, boating, archery, low ropes, and a sparkling Lake Norwich waterfront. We are looking for a senior level camp director who is able to not only run this beloved summer camp, but someone who can help us turn our camp facility into a multi-season family center. This position will oversee operations of camp as well as be heavily involved in fundraising, events, and development related to the Camp Norwich facility.

Job Duties
  • Directly oversee operations of Camp Norwich during camp season, which involves 200+ children per session
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and coach camp counselors, activity specialists, unit heads, health professional, and waterfront director during camp season
  • Coordinate and address facility & property upkeep in collaboration with the HRYMCA Facility Director
  • Be the central communicator between camp operations and child caregivers/parents both during the camp season and in the lead-up to camp, including registration season
  • Assure compliance with state and local camp regulations
  • Assist the CEO with hands-on fundraising and development by connecting with Norwich alumni and community members
  • Assist the Marketing Director with advertisement for all Norwich programs
  • Be an active member of the HRYMCA’s senior management team and operations leadership team by participating in meetings, special events, and strategic planning
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of camp experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit organization
  • Minimum 4 years of general management experience, including staff supervision, budget oversight, and program development
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification or acquired upon hire
  • Ability to connect and communicate with diverse populations

$65,000 – $70,000
