Hiring: Personal Trainer

Are you the type of person who likes to make an impact? Consider joining the team at the Hampshire Regional YMCA. We are looking for a motivated, friendly, outgoing Personal Trainer to join our Wellness team. Your involvement will be felt by members and staff, and you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the Y community. Please note the wide range of pay is due to different rates for different lengths of training sessions.

 

Job Duties:

  • Plan & conduct client sessions of either 30 or 60 minutes, both with one-on-one clients or client groups, up to 25+ client sessions per week
  • Provide opportunities in personal training for individuals with a wide range of fitness levels
  • Provide member orientations and demonstrate proper use of fitness equipment and Wellness Center
  • Maintain some Wellness Floor hours to assist all members and keep Wellness Center clean and stocked
  • Maintain monthly revenue & session number goals
  • Lead Prescribe the Y programming
  • Role model professionalism, exceptional customer service, and a positive attitude
  • Potential to take on group exercise classes as well as become and instructor in our chronic disease prevention programming
  • Act as a role model for part-time or more inexperienced personal trainers

Qualifications:

  • Personal Training Certification obtained from one of the following approved programs: YMCA, AFAA, ACE, IFPA, ACSM, NSCA or NASM
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills required, ideally 2+ years of experience
  • 2+ years of Personal Training experience preferred
  • Experience working with older adults and people with chronic health conditions is preferred

$17-50 per hour
