Aquatics and Water Safety Programs
The Y has been America’s leading swim instructor for more than 100 years, and our aquatics programs extend beyond instruction. We also provide recreational and specialty programs for all ages and abilities, including parent-child classes, preschool/youth swim lessons and water exercise. Additionally, we offer Lifeguard Training courses, teaching the future generation of life guards who go on to work at the YMCA, public pools, summer camps and recreational facilities throughout Hampshire County.
Exciting Improvements in Our Small Pool Area Planned For Spring 2018!
We are very pleased to announce the installation of a new air handling system for our small pool this spring. We will also be installing new lighting, sound panels and tiles to improve pool operations. In addition, the exterior masonry of the walls will be repaired.
A portion of our parking lot off Prospect Street will be closed on Wednesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 5 as we begin this project. On-street parking will not be affected.
The small pool will be closed from June 11 – June 29. Our large pool will remain open. Our wellness staff can offer alternative exercise options during this time.
This project is funded in part by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts and the George I. Alden Trust.
During this renovation we ask for your patience as we continue to make improvements to the YMCA to strengthen the health of our community!
