Hampshire Regional YMCA

At the Hampshire Regional YMCA, our goal is to help you reach yours! We have so many options in our Wellness department to help you do just that, many of which are included in your membership. Whether you choose to meet in person or virtually, we’ve got your back! At the Y, we believe staying healthy and getting fit are not only vital to our well-being, but should be fun and inclusive. That’s why we’ve designed our programs to meet the needs of every individual, no matter their fitness level, age or background. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment focused on helping you and your family gain strength, endurance and self-confidence. 

Throughout the year we offer free and fun and challenges in our Wellness Center that you can participate in at the Y or virtually!

Wellness Areas 

Cardio Room

Our cardio room offers state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment from Cybex, Matrix, and Precor, including treadmills, ellipticals, ARC trainers, AMTs, rowers, stairmills, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, and upper body Krankcycles.

Circuit Room

This is an area that all fitness levels can utilize. It has Cybex Eagle NX strength-training circuit, complete with two wheelchair-accessible machines. The free weight room contains a wide array of dumbbells, a power cage, and a Cybex functional trainer. 

Weight Room

The free weight room contains a wide array of dumbbells ranging from 5 to 100 lbs., a power cage, Cybex functional trainer, benches and more.

Functional Training Room

This space has a squat rack, deadlift platform, prowler sled, kettlebells, TRX trainers, slam balls, battle ropes, free weights, plyo boxes, BOSU trainers, and stability balls. Come check it out! 

Group Exercise

With both virtual and in-person options, our group exercise schedule truly offers something for everyone! Land classes take place in our two spacious and well-equipped group exercise studios. We offer aquatics classes in both the small and large pool.

Personal Training

Everyone can benefit from a personal trainer—the beginner who is unfamiliar with exercise equipment, the individual who needs extra motivation and structure, the experienced fitness enthusiast seeking better results or the elite athlete looking to gain a competitive edge! Our certified trainers will design a safe, progressive and effective program that is tailored to your needs.

Meet Our Personal Trainers

Virtual Y Wellness Advisor

One of the best defenses against getting sick is keeping your immune system strong by maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise. To help keep our community active, we are now offering FREE Virtual Wellness Advisor appointments to members of the Y.
These 30-minute sessions via Zoom with a member of our Wellness staff will provide ideas for staying healthy at home, and offer Y resources and community support systems that can help. Please share this opportunity with friends and community members – it is available to anyone seeking help with reaching their wellness goals.

Wellness Consult (30-45 min.)

This free session will introduce you to wellness at the Y to help you get the most out of your membership! Meet one-on-one with a Certified Personal Trainer to review your fitness goals and learn more about the YMCA classes, programs and services that can help you achieve them.

Free to members, by appointment only

Circuit and Cardio Orientations (45-60 min.)

A general orientation to our Cybex strength equipment and cardio machines is offered free to YMCA members ages 12+. Led by one of our trained Wellness staff, members will learn how each piece of equipment will work best for them and also learn about etiquette in the cardio and circuit rooms. 

Personal Training Consult (15-30 min.)

Meet with the personal trainer of your choice to determine if they would be a good match for you and your fitness goals.  Consultations may vary, but topics covered will include wellness goals, health history and nutrition.

Nutrition Consult (30 min.)

Meet with our Registered Dietitian to discuss your nutrition goals and receive some initial information and resources to help meet those goals.  Members will also be connected to existing Y programs and events that relate to their nutrition goals.

Wellness Refresher (10 – 45 min.)

A Wellness staff will help you brush up on how the circuit and cardio machines work if you’ve been away from the Y for a while, have health history changes or just need reminders on correct form.

Guidelines for Wellness area usage

Members and non-members ages 18+ have full access to the facility, including the upstairs adult locker rooms. Members and non-members under 18 years old can use the facility as follows:

    • Youth ages 14 – 17 may use the wellness center, weight room, functional training room, racquetball courts, gymnasium, pools and attend group exercise classes. Reservations may be required
    • Youth ages 12 – 13 may use the wellness center, gymnasium, pool, youth center and take group exercise classes when accompanied by a guardian.
    • Youth ages 10-11 may use the gymnasium, pool and youth center.
    • Youth under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older and may use the gymnasium and pools only.
